The Build Process
The exact build process will be heavily dependent on the conceptualised designs for your space. Once the design of your pool and outdoor living area has been finalised, our team will then begin work on the landscaping of your dream outdoor area. This process begins by bringing in excavators to clear away excess soil and prepare the area where your pool will be located. We will also run any underground pipes and conduits for water and electricity to the pool pump and any other areas, such as an outdoor kitchen.
Following this, our trade team will organise the rebar and mouldings to be placed before we bring in the concrete trucks. Yes! Multiple trucks of concrete and pour the concrete into the mouldings of your new pool and outdoor living area. We may not use as much concrete if you have selected a fibreglass pool or paving for your outdoor living area.
Lastly, our team will work on putting together the finishing touches, such as tiling, pergolas and installing appliances, such as spas or outdoor kitchens
Concrete vs Fibreglass pools
Fibreglass pools are a great option for budget pool installations, but they do have several limitations, such as fixed design options; they may not last as long as a concrete pool. Fibreglass pools also usually require a crane to lift the fibreglass shell into the property, whereas concrete can be poured directly from the front of the property to the back using a series of pipes through which the concrete can flow.
Concrete pools ultimately allow a much higher degree of customisation, such as having a spa area directly as part of the pool. Decorative tiles are also used on the side, which really creates that wow factor of a custom pool space. With the proper care, concrete pools can significantly outlast fibreglass pools and last for decades.
Fibreglass Pools
Fibreglass pools are quickly becoming a popular choice for homeowners, due to the smooth finish and low upkeep requirements. Fibreglass pool shells have a non-porous gel coating that resists algae and staining, which means there is less time spent cleaning the pool. Generally, fibreglass pools are much quicker to install and require less heating in cooler months, due to the insulating properties of fibreglass.
Concrete Pools
Take full advantage of the hot Australian summer with a custom inground concrete pool by Taq’s. We specialise in creating purpose-built concrete pools that complement your property’s aesthetic and add value to your home. Even on the hottest summer days, it will remain fairly cool, as it is constructed with concrete; other pools tend to retain heat during the middle of summer’s heatwaves.
